Allegory of the cave; our natures in its education and want of truth. Prisoners are held captive in a cave, chained to stare only at a wall. All they can see are the shadows on the wall before them, cast by an unseen light: a fire. They are merely shadows and nothing more. But these crypting effigies are not reflections of reality. To the prisoners of the cave, the shadows become reality. Cave has total control. The prisoner escapes from his shackles and sees the fire creating the shadows. He ascends above the flame to find the truth of the outside world. But the illuminated reality is so blinding, he turns back to the darkness. So the catechism of the allegory is: Would you rather live outside the cave, free from the synthetic reality of the shadows? Or confront the fire and the ones who imprisoned you in the cave?

Giving Portal’s Wheatley a Giant Robot Body
Portal 2’s Wheatley doesn’t really have a body. He’s the robotic equivalent of a floating head in a jar. Which makes it easy for him to whizz about the game’s levels, but makes it hard to craft a decent action figure out of the guy.
So custom toy builder KodyKoala went and built him one. Using a Wheatley key chain as a base, he took parts from other figures and constructed a glowing, Portal-gun-equipped torso and limbs, rounding out the figure with his own Companion Cube.
waffles:wheatley is pleased about this development for as long as it takes him to realise that two robot legs is actually quite hard
